I hold both Level 1 and Level 2 Certificates for Teaching Aquatics. These are awarded by England’s national governing body for swimming, the ASA (Amateur Swimming Association).
I am a competitive swimmer as well as a swimming teacher. I have competed at county, regional and national levels. You can read more about my swimming achievements on my about me page.
I teach weekly swimming classes for Southampton Triathlon Club.
During the Summers of 2015 and 2016 I took part in Swim Safe as a teacher on Boscombe Beach, Bournemouth. Swim Safe is a national initiative run by the ASA and the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution). The aim of the programme is to teach children how to be safe in, on, and around the sea, lakes and open water. It was great fun despite the weather!
Below are some pictures of me in the water with children.
In 2019 I qualified as an RNLI lifeguard and worked along the Bournemouth Coast during the summer.
